Tailwheel Training
Master the Art of Flying a Tailwheel Airplane
Service Description
Tailwheel Training Enhance your flying skills with our comprehensive Tailwheel Training. Gain the confidence and abilities to handle tailwheel aircraft well beyond today's standard. Flying a tailwheel airplane demands advanced stick and rudder skills — particularly during takeoffs and landings — that will make you a sharper, more precise pilot in any aircraft you fly. You Don't Have to Fly Tailwheel to Benefit from It Even if your primary airplane has tricycle gear, tailwheel training is one of the most effective ways to raise the ceiling on your overall flying ability. Pilots who complete tailwheel training report smoother, more consistent landings — in every airplane they fly afterward. Whether you're looking to add a new endorsement, fly tailwheel airplanes regularly, or simply become a better stick-and-rudder pilot, time in a tailwheel airplane pays dividends far beyond the endorsement itself. What to Expect Most pilots reach full proficiency and earn their tailwheel endorsement in around 10 hours of flight time(8-12). Once you demonstrate competence in all required maneuvers and areas of operation, any remaining flight time in your package is yours to direct — whether that's an introduction to aerobatics, crosswind work, or another area of flying you want to explore. If you complete your endorsement early and choose not to use the remaining time, we'll refund you for the unused hours.
